LAST IDEA!

I have decided to make a simple game much like pacman but instead of cars. So this game would be some type of adventurre game with cars picking up things along the maze and as they pick up each item they can go to the next level. I have decided to choose a game like this as it seems easy, and i would use the Pacman example script to guide me along the actions.

Scratch Challenges

1. Script to make the srite glide along and when it touches the edge turn around.

Challenge 4. In this challenge wehad to make the bat fly in closer to the screen.
I did this by using 7 different types of costumes and editing them starting from small to big. I found this interesting and quite easy as i already learnt how to change, edit and copy costumes and make one shange to another. I couldnt do this challenge withour doing challenge # of course because that challenge teaches us how to animate a bat flying just normal. i found this really interest and quite easy. cause all i had to do was change costumes and etc.

STEP3 Scratch Examples

I have tried all these examples but unfortunately i havent saved any of them. i found them interesting as you can just make each sprite do whatever you want just by adding a few steps to the script. In these examples i learnt how to add a scoreboard, some moves and etc.
Some examples that I have already tried are
  • keep score- in this example we learn how to use a variable and keep a score through out the game.
  • Key moves- in this example we learnt how to use the arrow keys to move a sprite around the screen
  • Move to a beat- this example was when we learnt how to use the sound scripts
  • Change colour- this example was when i learnt how to change the colour of the sprite as you move the mouse along the screen.
  • Dance Twist- In this example i tried to make the sprite look like its dancing, but i didnt really put the music on as i dont know yet how.

Scratch Image Effect

Today i looked at this tutorial. I found it really interesting on how you can whirl a picture just by moving the mouse and changing the colour. I might use this when i start to make my game, so that it will look interesting.

Step3 Keep Score

This is an Activity to add our own scoreboard.
I just followed the steps and this is what i ended up with.
Some problems Im encountering are that the shark just suddenly goes back out of the screen.

Opening a door Flowchart

As you can see this my own flowchart. It looks a bit confusing as it is all not equal.
Ive also tried to make it as simple as possible

Sample Flow charts

 1. In this flowchart it is showing how to read a temperature and to tell whether they are cold or hot. As the temperature say < 32 this means that the tempearture is cold.
2. In this flowchart it is showing how a led light works as soon as you switch it on.

-oval:start and end; on in
- diamond: decisions or branches
- rectangles: action boxes; one in one out
 -arrow: indicate proccess direction.

notes step 2- computer algorithims

"computers dont do what you want them to do, but only what you tell them to do"

1. Algorithms- set of instructions to complete a task, in a finite time

2. Pseudocode- an informal language that helps programmers develop algorithms.
3. Machine Language- system of instrcutions executed by the CPU
4. High Level Computer Language- a type of programming language that isnt limited by the tye of computer or by specific job.
5. Flowchart- a type of diagram that represents an algorithm or proccess
6. Sequence- order in which you do something
7. Selection- choose
8. Repetition- repeating asequence of instructions

WIX.COM

At first I found Wix pretty interesting because it had a lot of funa dn easy options, It seemed easy to understand and interesting. It included alot of templates for different categories for example, Photography, Fashion, Profiles and etc...
This is the home screen of WIX. You click on LogIn/Sign Up and here you shall get started. Wix allows you tu share any type of media, from YouTube, Pictures, Animations etc. It is easy to follow on and start with because all you need are in categories, for example Page parts, Media, Clip art, Text Galleries and Widgets. And in tose heading are all the things you would need to edit you webpage. You are able to edit your background, your menu, buttons, text(if you want a scroll bar), the way you want your gallery set and previewed and widgets as in different types of activities you would want on your webpage. This would include music player, comments and etc. Another positive thing with Wix is that once your done editing and placing your images and videotogether you can lock it so you can avoid moving it by accident.

EVALUATION:
Versatility: Wix is very Versatile as it can contain a lot of media, for example Images, Videos, Music and other files. With each of these categories there may be different websites associated with it such as YouTube Videos. and that you can post a link on Images other than saving an image from google on to the computer and downloading it back to the internet. With Wix not only can you add those media but there are also other type of Media that you may not find on Protopage, such as Clip art and galleries. And also like Protopage you can add widgets such as notes, comments, Maps and so on.

Ease of Use:
Wix is "ok" when it comes to difficulty, there are some parts of it that are easy to understand, but some that are complicated and has a series of parts for you until you complete what you want to do. It is pretty easy once you get used to it as you can lock your objects when youre done with them so that you wont move them by accident.

Collaboration:
Me and my partner have collaborated in wix by working on different pages so that we wouldnt interfere with each others work. She would work on designing the website, while i did my research. When she has done fixing up the website, i then went on with fixing my part of the website.

DIFFERENCES BETWEEN MOTHERBOARDS

There are many differences to each motherboards, one which is most important is the type of Central Processing Unit it supports. Other differences they may have are the amount of memory slots, expansion slota, support for the Hard drives, and each connectors for keyboard, mouse, monitor etc.

PROTOPAGE

So this is the home page of protopage, once you get here, you click on the white box on the top left, which will lead you to a site where you will be able to sign up. Once you click on this you will come up on a page that will look like this.
Protopage is a pretty easy site to follow and not complicated but the problem with this is that its "boring" and have only very little limitations of how to set the website out. Unlike Wix there is only one same template in which has the tabs at the top and then you information in seperate tabs underneath.

In this page you can name you protopage URL, and edit if you want your website on private or public, your password and where you live.
Once you click "Email me my activation link" it will send you the activation link and your password with it. You can then start editing your own protopage website.

Evaluation:

Versatility- Protopage has a high versaility as you can use any type of giving information, example text video, new, images, comments, HTML, calendars, Clocks etc. Protopage has a wide range of ways to express your information. When you find information from pages you can post link and share it on your website.

Ease of Use- In protopage it is pretty easy to use as there are different type of widgets and tabs you can divide them into. When you want to add components its pretty easy, eg when you want to posta link to a video from youtube you just post the link on html/rich text format. When people are on my wensite it will be easy for them to find each widget as they are all spreaded out and easy to fight. A disadvantage on this maybe because that you are able to minimze each widget which may cause problems as too overcrowding or not seeing the full information.

SOCIAL NETWORKING

- Networks get things done
- people networks can help us with finding jobs, meeeting new friends and partners.
- problems with social connections and the real world is that it is hidden.
- this problem is being solved by social networking websites.
-  Social Netowrking Websites make money by packaging user data into trends and patterns
- It is the grouping of individuals into specific groups.
- Can be popular through the workplace, school and mostly online.
- The internet is filled with millions of people who are looking to meet other people and share information.
- An advantage with a social networking website is that individuals around the world have access to it.
- A disadvantage is the dangers of these website which may lead to data theft and viruses
- The most dangerous are online preadtors who claim to be someone theyre not.

MOTHERBOARDS

- contains the CPU*
- Amount of RAM it supports; suggested more RAM* than needed.
- contains PCI* slots.
- also contains several other ports including; SATA, RAID, USB* and Firwire ports.
- some motherboards have bulit in sound and video characteristics, but in some others you will have to install them into the CPU itself
- may include: hard drives, optical disk, a video and sound card and a floppy disk
- it allows all parts of the computer to communicate with each other and recieve power.
- The physical boards that shelters the computer's main circuits and somponents including the CPU
- It is the system that puts your whole computer together, and presents you with a live computer.
- Components that a motherboard may contain are, your CPU, Memory, expansion cards eg graphics controller, hard drive, connectors, and other external ports.
- the first motherboard only had a few components, some which only had a proccesor and card
slots.

example of a modern motherboard:
Processor Socket: Socket for the microprocessor, determines the kind of CPU your motherboard uses.
PCI- Peripheral Component Interconnect: connections for video, sound and picture cards also network cards.
AGP- Accelerated Graphics Port: port for video cards
IDE- Integrated Drive Electronics: interfaces for the hard drives
RAM- Random Access Memory: Provides space for your computer to read write the data being used by the CPU.
CPU- Central Proccessing Unit: It is the most important part of the computer, where most computer calculations take place.
SATA- Serial Advanced Technology Attachment: It is a computer bus host connector to storage devices such as hard disk drives and optical drives.
RAID- Redundant Array Of Independent Disks: Technology that provides extra storage reliabilty through redundancy.
USB- Universal Serial Bus: A preffered connection method for technology.

XML

way of coding information on web pages.
seperates information
link with information from one website to another.
- data and the form are seperate.

- It is a user made language.

- XML stand for EStensible Markup Language

- a lot like HTML

- instead of displaying data like HTML it is designed to carry other than display.

> XML is designed to transport data to and from pages.

> HTML is designed to display the data.

- This is an example of XML coding. it has then you close and so it then goes on.

24 march 2010

Today is when i thought of what i would do for my animation.

I thought of a simple animation using pacman. Pacman would come out eating all the other jellyfishes coloured with other house colours. After this he spits out RYAN! and goes.

It took me a while to think of this, but i think the final animation will work well.
